It sounds great with D’Addario PB Lights and would recommend changing the strings once you get this acoustic. It will sound ten times better than the original strings on. The Quik Tuner is alright not the best but it’ll do and the gig bag is alright. It’ll protect your acoustic from dust and rain. A good steal I’d say just make sure you get it set up from a professional or you’ll have a hard time trying to learn the acoustic guitar.”

“I’ve owned this rig for close to two years now. I have been teaching myself to play and performing with it by attending jams and open mics. The sound has really “opened up” over that time and I’m rather astonished that such an inexpensive guitar can sound so beautiful. The DVD is very, very helpful for starting out playing guitar for the first time. The tuner is useful. The gig bag is a little awkward to stuff the guitar into as the tuners and string ends tend to snag the inside of it. I’ve added a strap button to the heel of the neck and a Seymour Duncan Acoustic Tube pickup and happily play this guitar in public. It sounds terrific. I did have an issue with the corners of the bridge starting to de-laminate. This caused a severe bow and “belly” in the top as those corners tie most of the stress from the string tension to the internal “X” bracing. A little cyanoacrylate glue with the strings off corrected that problem. If I had to replace this guitar and price was a consideration, I’d buy another Yamaha without hesitation.”
